How do I register a company in Botswana?expand_more
Company registration is done online through CIPA's Online Business Registration System (OBRS). You reserve a name, submit the company details, directors, shareholders and constitution, and pay the fees. We prepare and file everything for you and send you the certificate of incorporation.
What is a company constitution and do I need one?expand_more
Under the amended Companies Act, every Botswana company, new or existing, must file a constitution with CIPA, together with declarations about who owns and controls the company. Companies that fail to comply risk being deregistered. We can check whether yours has been filed and take care of it if not.
How much does CIPA company registration cost?expand_more
CIPA's published online fees are P20 for a name reservation and P360 to register a private or public company, plus P500 to file the constitution. Our service fee is quoted separately and up front. Fees can change, so we confirm the current amounts when you enquire.
What happens if I miss my annual return?expand_more
Companies that fall behind on CIPA filings can face penalties and, in serious cases, removal from the register. A removed company can usually be restored, but it means filing everything that is outstanding. It is far easier and cheaper to file on time, and we track the dates for you.
